The heavy rains that have fallen in the last hours caused an increase in the flow of the Aruntaya River, in the Irpavi II area. While, in the city of El Alto, they caused the flooding of the strategic Juan Pablo II avenue and surrounding areas in San Roque.

Around noon this Friday, a strong flow from the Aruntaya River hit one of the bridges in Irpavi, causing a strong current that damaged part of the infrastructure. Videos of the moment of impact circulated massively on social media.

The flow, which carried stones, caused the closure of the bridge due to the sediment that remained on the bridge. However, minutes later municipal officials with the help of tractors cleaned the sector.

At night, the residents of Final Costanera, at the entrance to the Rosales and Pedregal neighborhood, reported the rising of the river in the area.

In the city of El Alto, heavy rains caused the flooding of the San Roque area, in District 7 of the city. In the videos shared on the internet, it is observed that the water covered the feet and ankles of the passers-by, and even the tributary grew so much that the merchants feared for their merchandise.

In this regard, this Friday afternoon, the Mayor’s Office of El Alto reported that relief teams carried out the cleaning of drains in the areas of Rio Seco, and District 3, 4 and 5 of the city.
