Marked by a unique mix of rhythms and songs, Brazilian music originated and transformed several musical genres. Therefore, this week, Hoje é Dia will honor artists and musical styles that mark the Brazilian scene.
Since we’re talking about diversity, it’s only fair to talk about the artist from Paraíba known as the King of Rhythm.
This Sunday (10th), marks the 40th anniversary of the death of Jackson do Pandeiro. Born in Alagoa Grande, in the interior of Paraíba, he conquered Rio de Janeiro and the whole of Brazil and took the popular culture of the Northeast wherever he went.
The program remember is TV gives TV Brazil recalls the singer’s trajectory with interviews and lots of music.
Jackson mixed xaxado, embolada, frevo, samba and coco, traditional Pernambuco rhythm and other popular rhythms. The music sebastian is one of coconut’s biggest hits to date.
The week still remembers another Brazilian music idol who died 20 years ago. The singer Claudinho, from the funk duo Claudinho and Buchecha, died on July 13, 2002 in a car accident.
Success in the 90s, the duo was one of the precursors of funk carioca with hits such as I want to find you, Only love and I’m like this without you.

On the 13th, Rock is celebrated on World Rock Day. And the best way to celebrate this day, of course, is with lots of music. In a repertoire that mixes national and international rock classics, our bosses is the perfect soundtrack for lovers of the music genre.
World Rock Day remembers a milestone. 37 years ago, on July 13, 1987, Live Aid took place, a musical concert that brought together rock stars with the aim of raising donations to fight hunger in Africa.
