Ximena Rincón recognizes "absence of the State" in visit to La Araucanía: "Many speak and do not even know it"

Putting together an agenda on the ground as well as the analysis of the state of exception are the reasons why the president of the Senate Ximena Rincón (DC) has undertaken a visit to the Region of La Araucanía, from where she assured that she listened to the various actors in the territory it is essential for better decision-making about what happens in the macro-southern zone.

“I came to hear what is lived and felt in the region. Many speak of La Araucanía and do not even know it. Therefore, the meaning of this tour is to listen, to be in the territory to make important decisions such as the renewal of the state of exception, that – I have said it – it is only a tool, but not the solution, something more is required “, assured the senator.

He added that it is necessary to be with the community and listen to it if you really aspire to travel to a country where everyone feels equal and incorporated, and not with differences or abandoned.

“We must recognize that there has been an absence of the State and when this happens, everything we do not want appears: violence, drug trafficking, drugs,” said the legislator. Ximena Rincón stressed that she met with the regional governor and that she will also do so with representatives of a broad social spectrum of Araucanía to address both the dimension of violence and the abandonment of communities.

“Obviously this without ignoring that we have a Constitutional Convention and that the incorporation and recognition of native peoples should have been done long ago. The idea is to continue listening to the different views of the public, but until now the fact that criminal activity has taken over the territory has been reaffirmed, abandoning the cities, “said the president of the Senate.

In this sense, he called for dialogue to build a common truth and put an end to the drama experienced by men and women in Araucanía. “It is something that we have to take up as a challenge and not keep looking to the side, so whoever is elected President will have to address this issue and the idea is to build reality. Is to face it,” he concluded
