BARAHONA.- Within the framework of targeted operations carried out by the National Police in sectors and neighborhoods of this demarcation, 20 people were arrested, 7 motorcycles recovered and around 80 others held.
In a press release, the South Regional Directorate of the Police indicated that some of the people arrested were sent to justice for the commission of different acts and others were released after being investigated.
In addition, he stated that the 7 recovered motorcycles will be delivered to their true owners as long as they present the documents that support their legal origin.
As for the almost 80 motorcycles, the institution of order states that they were retained for being devoid of light, among other essential things to be able to travel freely.
“Under the guidelines of the Southern Regional Director, the operations focused on the different sectors and neighborhoods of this city continue to be vigorous, in which our agents always act in accordance with police regulations and laws, respecting the fundamental rights of citizens,” says the statement. It states that the operations in question are carried out constantly, not only in this city, but also in all the towns of the Enriquillo region, with the aim of guaranteeing citizen security and peaceful coexistence.
The police note emphasizes that these targeted operations are also aimed at preventing unscrupulous individuals from committing criminal acts against the residents.
