Epicentro TV revealed, through its Twitter account, the report prepared by the National Police of Peru (PNP) about the alleged kidnapping of two journalists from the “Fourth Power” program, in the district of Chadín, Cajamarca, happened last July 6 while they were recording a report in the place.
As detailed in the PNP document, upon learning of the situation presented at approximately 8:00 pm, agents from the La Paccha rural police station, attached to the Chota sectoral police station, were contacted. who were ordered to attend to protect and safeguard the safety of the press team with the support of the Highway Police of the area.

In this sense, members of the La Paccha police station reported that at 9:30 pm they managed to find the location of the truck of the América TV channel, as well as with the three individuals who had been held in Chadín: Edward Quispe, a reporter who read a message from the patrolmen on open television; Elmer Valdiviezo, cameraman; and Roel Cabrera, driver assigned for the report.
As it became known later, the PNP report mentioned that the transfer of the press team to a safe area was the responsibility of the Bambamarca Police Station, since the group was located in his jurisdiction. Subsequently, the men were taken to the main town of the same at approximately 11:20 p.m.

Among other details that have been revealed, it is explained that the members of “Fourth power” they had expressed in front of the Hualgayoc-Bambamarca Provincial Criminal Prosecutor their willingness to file a complaint about what happened when they arrived at the city of Cajamarca, a fact that was recorded in an act signed by the prosecutor and the affected parties. However, the measure did not materialize and the journalists returned to Lima after being taken to the capital of the region.
On the other hand, in the statement provided to the prosecutor, the journalists indicated that, “To avoid further consequences, they voluntarily left a camera, two memories and a charger” in the hands of the patrolmenwhich was recorded in the Ronderil Base Minutes Book.

These same objects were recovered on July 7 by the authorities after the proceedings ordered by the PNP after knowing the details of this fact.
As soon as to the investigations in relation to what happened, the Police indicated that they will initiate an ex officio investigation of the case, since, since there is no complaint involved, this is the procedure that is required, in order to determine the commission of a crime.
