The under-12 team Saint ClareCuba’s representative in the Caribbean Little League Baseball tournament, fell to his counterpart from Curaçao A in the final of the tournament held in the Dominican Republic.
The defeat, with a closed score of 3×1, deprived the Cubans of reaching the only ticket in dispute for the World Series of the category, which will be held next August in the United States.
The people from Santa Clara had arrived undefeated in the match for the gold, after dominate their knockout group and beat Aruba in one of the semifinals, held this Saturday morning. In that match, those from the largest of the Antilles won with a slate of 8×2 with good combined work from pitchers William Álvarez and Christian Aguilera, according to review the newspaper Rebel Youth.

And also this Saturday, but in its first presentation at the Haarlem Baseball Week, the Alazanes de Granma team, reinforced with several players from other provinces, fell to the ninth team from the Netherlands.
The defeat, consummated with a final score of 5×1, confirmed the Dutch as the “black beast” of the Cuban teams in international events. In addition, the Antilleans were cold at bat, connecting just five hits to the local pitchers, while the Granma pitching allowed ten hits.
