Today we remember National Transplant Day and Juanita, only five years old, needs us more than ever. She is waiting for a kidney transplant, so her mother started a campaign to find the desired donor.
Juanita was born with a disease called Bilateral Polycystic Kidney Disease. Although the diagnosis was discouraging, she survived the first four years of her life without invasive procedures. But this disease has the particularity of being progressive and led to the removal of her right kidney, and currently the little girl is undergoing dialysis daily.
On June 22, she suffered a complication derived from a catheter infection and since she cannot live without dialysis, she had to undergo hemodialysis, a much more invasive procedure.
So the need for a kidney transplant is urgent so that #Juanita can recover her quality of life, play, go to school, dance, sing, run and above all, have a full life like all children.
I followed Juanita’s account on Instagram: @unrinonparajuanita so that it reaches more people and very soon the little girl can overcome this stage that she has been enduring since she was born.
