President Luis Abinader pronounced yesterday that his government has carried out one of the greatest political transformations that the country has undergone by renouncing influence in the Public Ministry and establishing an independent justice with equal consequences for all.
Participating in the opening ceremony of the XIX Latin American Summit on Democracy and Development, the head of state affirmed that as ruler of the Republic he has fulfilled his promises established in his government plan, respecting freedoms and democracy.
“For this reason, my government has carried out one of the greatest political transformations that this country has undergone. We have given up influencing the Public Ministry. We have established an independent justice with equal consequences for all. Where there are no exceptions and where only the law is followed”, expressed the president in the activity that took place in the convention center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In his speech, President Abinader reflected that many times, in the region, democratic setbacks have been seen in the name of freedom, but that the incontestable flame of justice and democracy has always been kept burning in the peoples.
“Friends, nothing can be built without freedom, nothing, no program, no project can be built without democracy and no project of any nation can be built without justice,” she proclaimed.
Speaking in detail about what his administration has done, Abinader said that his government has kept its word, fulfilling what was promised in the campaign without forgetting “the necessary economic and social stability.”
“We all go through difficult times, but they can only be overcome if the goals are clear and the objectives are met. There are many challenges that we faced before the pandemic and there will be many more that we will have to overcome in the coming years. The world can no longer be conceived from the exclusive perspective of the Nation-State. Great powers seek regional alliances that allow, in this increasingly globalized world, to be influential actors and shape the world according to their ideas and interests”, he said.
The issue to be discussed at the summit is “electoral campaigns” and the President said in this regard that this practice faces thousands of challenges such as social networks, the multiplicity of actors and the changing time.

During his speech, the president assured that holding this type of summit is a great opportunity to strengthen ties, generate synergies and share reflections and action programs in the future. He said that the international meeting unites the voices of the different actors in the region with the firm objective of contributing to a more complete project for collaboration and integration and the reaffirmation of the values they share.
