The Municipality of Montevideo, through its Secretary of Diversity, together with the Mirá Mamá blog and the Castillo Idiarte Amig@s Commission, launched the cycle called LGBT+ Week at the Idiarte Borda Castle: pride through the arts. Said proposal invites citizens to participate in a wide variety of activities that bring together art and LGBTQ+ pride from July 9 to 18.
It will take place in the Castle (Av. Lezica 5912) from this Saturday, July 9 to Monday, July 18, with free and open access.
The activity has the support of the Maricateka project, the student association of Liceo No. 9, the Cultural Corners program of the Department of Culture, Montevideo Audiovisual and the Subway Exhibition Center.
LGBT+ Poster Exhibition 2022
On Saturday, July 9 at 4:00 p.m., the 5th will be inaugurated. edition of the exhibition of posters created by national illustrators under the slogan “Pride in everyday life” for the rights of LGBTQ+ people.
There will be a space for chat and exchange with creators of the exhibition. The exhibition can be visited until Monday, July 18, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Maricateka
From 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., there will be a free reading corner.
It is a traveling library project that proposes an approach to LGBTQAI+ themed books.
The collection of copies is curated by the Colombian writer and activist David Escobar, and can be seen by visiting his Instagram account: @maricateka.
Shared Dissidences
On Friday, July 15, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the support of the student union of Liceo No. 9, the Castle will have spaces designed for people over 14 years of age who wish to share and build together.
There will be activities of collective collage, music, poetry and open micro, among others.
The idea is that those who are interested in participating are encouraged and bring with them something they want to share: a book, a poem, a song, an instrument, a box game, math, a snack, talk topics, questions, etc.

- Poster creation workshop
Tuesday, July 12 at 3:00 p.m., for people over 13 years of age.
It will be in charge of the designer and illustrator Fiorella Varaldi, who is participating in the poster exhibition.

- Workshop on sexual and gender diversity
Wednesday, July 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
This is a free workshop aimed at adults linked to education and neighborhood commissions that will be led by Rina Piana, from the Department of Diversity of the Municipality of Montevideo.

cinema for children
On Sunday, July 10, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the film “Luca”, directed by Enrico Casarosa, will be screened.
The activity is designed for people over 6 years of age, and will include a guided tour of the poster exhibition.
Forum cinema: “How long can something hide?”
On Friday, July 15 at 5:00 p.m., with the support of Montevideo Audiovisual, the film “La intention del colibrí” (Uruguay, 2021) by Sergio de León will be screened, who will be present to exchange and chat.
Guided visit
On Thursday, July 14, you can enjoy a bus ride to the Subway Exhibition Center to visit the Rara Avis exhibition by the artist Ulises Beisso. The departure will be at 4:00 p.m. from the Idiarte Borda.
