The National Consumer Price Index (INPC), which measures inflation for families with an income of up to five times the minimum wage, stood at 0.62% in June this year, a percentage above those observed in May (0.45%) and in June of last year (0.60%).
According to data released today (8), in Rio de Janeiro, by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the INPC accumulates 5.61% in the year and 11.92% in 12 months.
Inflation
In June, the INPC was below the Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA), which measures the country’s official inflation: 0.67%. Despite this, in the accumulated for the year, the IPCA presented lower values: 5.49% in the year and 11.89% in 12 months, respectively.
Last June, food products measured by the INPC had inflation of 0.78%, compared to 0.63% in May. Non-food products registered 0.57% in June, compared to 0.39% in May.
