Servel received 299 applications for registration for the Approval and 409 for the rejection before propaganda for the exit plebiscite

During the day of Wednesday, June 6, the electoral campaign period was officially started with a view to the exit plebiscite set for next Sunday, September 4, and where the citizens will choose whether or not to approve the proposal for a new Constitution.

In this sense, between Tuesday and Thursday of this week, political parties, independent parliamentarians and civil society organizations had the possibility of registering with the Electoral Service (Servel) to be part of the propaganda and financing of the instance. .

One day after the closing of the process, the electoral body delivered the balance of the inscriptions. In total, 708 requests were received, of which 299 correspond to the Approval option and 409 go to Rejection.

In detail, there are 10 political parties, 12 independent parliamentarians and 277 civil society organizations that signed up for the Approval. For the Rejection, 5 parties, 5 independent parliamentarians and 399 organizations were registered.

In addition, the Servel published the breakdown of the inscriptions belonging to commands. Of 70 requests in total, 9 political parties, 6 independent parliamentarians and 169 civil society organizations go for Approval. Meanwhile, 4 political parties and 44 civil society organizations will seek to make propaganda for the Rejection in commandos.

As indicated by the agency, at the moment all registration applications are being reviewed by the Electoral Service, by virtue of the requirements established in the forty-second transitory provision of the current Constitution and the instructions issued by the Board of Directors.

This, in order to be able to resolve the accepted applications and thus determine the limits on electoral expenses, which will be published next Tuesday, July 12.

SERVEL DATA FOR THE PLEBISCITE

According to the information provided by the Servel, 15,076,690 people are authorized to vote in the country in the exit plebiscite, while abroad, 97,239 are authorized.

Along the same lines, next August 13, the Servel will announce the polling stations and polling places, as well as the list of polling station members appointed by the Electoral Boards, who will have three days to present their excuses.

It should be noted that the plebiscite is mandatory for those who have electoral domicile in the country. In case of not paying, people risk fines ranging from 0.5 to 3 monthly tax units (UTM).

However, all those who are abroad, have an illness or are more than 200 kilometers away from the determined polling place can be excused.
