President Jair Bolsonaro participated, this Thursday (9), in the opening of the Summit for Democracy. The event, which ends tomorrow (10), is organized by the US government and has the participation of leaders from over 100 countries with the proposal to exchange experiences.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a video to be shown tomorrow during the summit, Bolsonaro will reiterate Brazil’s commitment to protecting fundamental freedoms and promoting a culture of dialogue, freedom and social inclusion.
Also according to Itamaraty, the president will cite the fight against corruption as a permanent priority for the Brazilian government, “including through the approval of the Anti-Corruption Plan, with a view to consolidating a transparent and responsible public administration”.
“Brazil’s participation in the Summit for Democracy demonstrates the country’s commitment to the democratic values enshrined in the Federal Constitution of 1988 and to the full development of the rule of law”, concluded the folder, in a statement.
