The president of the Potosinista Civic Committee (Comcipo), Juan Carlos Manuel, declared himself in hiding after learning of the operations against him by the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police.

In this context, the Pro Santa Cruz Committee will install an emergency meeting this Friday and does not rule out going to a new strike in protest of this case, informed the lawyer of Santa Cruz citizens, Jorge Valda.

“We have had a contact with Juan Carlos Manuel and he has told us that he has declared himself in hiding. I spoke with Rómulo (Calvo) and what he has transmitted to me is that we are going to support the decisions that Potosí is going to make. We are scheduling an emergency meeting of the Pro Santa Cruz Committee, it is not ruled out going to a new strike “, he indicated in a contact with Digital Seven Page.

On Thursday night, the Police deployed a large police contingent to Potosí from Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, Tarija and La Paz while another contingent broke into the Comcipo headquarters with an arrest warrant against Manuel.

It is known that they are also looking for the excitable Marco Pumari and the secretary of Conflicts Ramiro Subia.

Valda explained that the national civic movement will have an emergency meeting in which measures will be taken “to stop this abuse.” He explained that they will not leave Potosinos alone in legal matters or as citizens.

“The latest resolution of the national civic movement is not to allow the arrest of any person who has promoted the legitimate struggle for democracy. This is the case of Juan Carlos Manuel, Marco Pumari and Ramiro Subia. We are not going to allow this type of abuse to take place ”, he emphasized.

Together with the unions and transporters, the citizens of Potosí and Santa Cruz led the protests against Law 1386, which was later repealed.
