The National Directorate of migrations (DNM) announced that, from now on, the procedure to authorize the departure of minors from the country will be much simpler and faster.

This because of the organism enabled a new instant authorization system, which can be carried out directly at the country’s more than 100 border crossings and international airports, according to Florencia Carignano, head of migrations.

“migrations is implementing a new system to make it easier to generate permits for minors,” assured Carignano, who also pointed out: “It is always an inconvenience and many times parents forget when they arrive in Ezeiza, we see it daily, and that makes them miss a trip.”

However, the official clarified that, although now it will be faster to process the authorization, the parents must be present and must demonstrate their filial relationship with the minor.

Carignano explained that the new system is already operating.

“You have to prove the affiliation, that is, you have to be mom and dad and show that they are the mom and dad of that child through the DNI, the birth certificate, or the marriage certificate.”

And he added: “Mom and dad have to be there, yes or yes, to sign at the moment who they are going to give permission to. Then, that goes to a supervision part, where, if everything is fine, the minutes are drawn up and they send it to your email”.

He stressed that “technological development allows both the authorization for children and adolescents to leave the country, as well as its revocation, to be displayed immediately on all the screens that the immigration inspectors operate, since the procedure is loaded into the System Comprehensive Migratory Capture (SICaM)”.

How the new system will work

The organism Clarified that Now there will be three modalities to request the authorization: Instantly, Express and Normal. The instant can be processed in a maximum time of up to 2 hours and has a value of $9,500. In addition, it can be done without a prior shift at the Central Migration Headquarters, Ezeiza, Aeroparque, Buquebus and at all border crossings.

For its part, the Express can take up to 48 hours and will cost $7,500; while for the normal one it will be necessary to take a shift: this modality takes up to 10 days and costs $4,500.
