A music teacher, accused of committing sexual abuse against children between 4 and 5 years old in kindergarten 31 in the Melipal neighborhood of the city of Neuquén, must serve preventive detention for six months “due to the risk of flight,” judicial sources reported.
The man was arrested on Tuesday night amid incidents with the children’s parents both in the garden, which remains closed with police custody, and in the teacher’s home.
The judge of Guarantees, Carina Álvarez, accepted the accusations made to her on Wednesday night by the prosecutor Manuel Islas, who accused the teacher of “simple sexual abuse aggravated by being in charge of education” in 16 facts.
Islas maintained that “according to the provisional information, the events occurred in an estimated period between March and July of the current year during the dictation of the music class that he was in charge of, both in the morning and afternoon shifts.”

The prosecution’s proposal was endorsed by the representative of the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents.
