The Federation of Grocers of the Province of Buenos Aires, chaired by Fernando Savore, denounced that wholesalers increased their prices between 10% and 15%, both in foods like other products.
The increases in different items would have occurred after the resignation of Martín Guzmán from the Ministry of Economy and the rise of the dollar, with which it is expected that given the increases in foods inflation spikes again.
About, Savore assured that it is essential to put control over the prices of foods and the rest of the productsbecause this puts their consumption and the growth of the country at risk.
Although this situation has been present since before the change in the economic team, the president of the Federation points out that at this time any event serves as a trigger to mark prices.
“Prices and costs issues are so sensitive that anything can cause a trigger. We understand that all changes affect the final price of groceries or any product”.
However, the businessman points out that the problem is that “they are all crouched down waiting for something to happen to make these tremendous speculations that are being made.”
Given this scenario, Savore warns that “there is no products They haven’t changed the price. This is a dust storm that has to be stopped. Prices have to go down, otherwise we are going to enter a tremendous recession. This recession is not going to be due to customer denial of prices, it is going to be because they no longer have money to spend“.
The call of the Federation to businessmen and Government
Given the difficult panorama that the country is going through in economic matters, from the Federation they indicated that “they are going to have to sit down to agree with the different companies to see how we begin to stop all this, what the Government would have to give up and what companies like to be able to equate this and live a little in peace.”
In addition, the leader added “we are in an instance where we can no longer fight. All companies, including monopolies, must start to think a little about our country. And to think about the country is to sit down, make friends and start building because the north has been lost in everything”.
