Alias ​​Iván Márquez, head of the Farc dissidents, would have survived the attack against him perpetrated by unknown forces in Venezuela.

High Colombian intelligence sources confirmed to Time that the information collected in Venezuelan territory indicates that the former commander of the FARC, who betrayed the peace process, is seriously injured. In addition, they transferred him to Caracas, where he receives medical care in a hospital. Those same sources assure that he is in an Intensive Care unit.

Last Saturday, the attack with long weapons and explosives against the Márquez camp was known. From that moment, the Colombian State tried to verify versions according to which he was dead, the same ones that this Tuesday have been denied.

It must be remembered that several of the dissident leaders have fallen in Venezuelan territory.

This May, in the neighboring country, Gentil Duarte, head of the dissident group that is fighting in Venezuela with the group of Ivan Marquez. And last year three members of the first line of command of the Second Marquetalia died in Venezuelan territory.

The camp where Miguel Botache Santillana, ‘Gentil Duarte’, was located on the other side of the border, was attacked with explosives on May 4. In that place the guerrilla died, along with a minor and an undetermined number of people.
