They steal seismic equipment to monitor the Tutupaca and Yucamani volcanoes in Tacna

Unscrupulous people tried to steal seismic equipment from a station on the Yucamani volcano, in the Tacna region, which has now caused the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) to decide to take them away, before the criminals carry out their mission.

The volcanology research analyst Katherine Vargas indicated that in 2021 a monitoring station of the Tutupaca volcano was stolen, which were sophisticated and cost 1,000 soles.
