The celebrations for National Holidays they already have a list of preferred destinations. The ranking by number of reservations already made is led by Cusco, Piura and Arequipa, in first, second and third place, respectively, according to Despegar travel company.
In fourth and fifth place are the cities of Iquitos and Tarapoto.
“The preference of the destinations is very similar to that of the year 2021, but with a higher volume, considering that this year fits as a long holiday (from Thursday to Sunday) and also because the recovery of the industry is on the right track. We are very happy with the expectations of the Peruvian traveler for these dates”, said the country manager for Peru, Ecuador and Colombia of the firm, Inés Hochstadter.
The top 10 at the national level is completed by Chiclayo, Juliaca, Trujillo, Tumbes and Tacna.
“For these National Holidays we see that reservations to national destinations are positioning themselves very strongly,” said Hochstadter.
Among international destinations, the five most booked have warm climates. The list is headed by Cancún (Mexico), followed by Cartagena (Colombia), Panama, San Andrés (Colombia) and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic).
