Foreign Ministers Faria and Lavrov reviewed bilateral agenda

From Moscow, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Carlos Faría, held a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, where they discussed issues such as strengthening bilateral relations in the face of Western sanctions and advancing the oil economic agenda.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian nation, in a press conference held in the Eurasian country, condemned in an important way the large number of sanctions that have been filed against the Russian Federation and its inhabitants.

“We condemn the application of these illegal sanctions against any country, the intention of the West is that the conflict continues. That is why the United Nations Organization (UN) exists, to deal with any problem and when considered by any of its members, it can take such an action, but not in this way.”

He assured that the plans behind those sanctions “did not meet their expectations and the Russian economy continues, with certain inconveniences, but the damage that was wanted to be caused has diminished.”

Dialogue Support

In the meeting with the media, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov indicated that his nation is willing to support Venezuela in the dialogue between the Government and the opposition.

“We confirm our willingness to maintain our constructive contribution to overcoming the internal contradictions in Venezuelan society with respect for the sovereignty of Venezuela and its Constitution.”

Lavrov asserted that “in the event that the government and the opposition platform decide to resume their negotiations in Mexico, Russia will be willing to continue monitoring this international dialogue platform.”

Likewise, he urged the international community to respect the decisions of the Venezuelan people. “Regarding their choice of the path to follow from the economic and social point of view and their political system.”

Similarly, the head of Venezuelan diplomacy indicated that thanks to the provision of President Nicolás Maduro for an inclusive dialogue, he has allowed the return of foreign investors, including Russians, who now join “to join the different strategic projects of our country. ”.

He also stressed that there is a group of opponents adding to “participate in everything that is the democratic game.”

Tribute to Hugo Chavez

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Carlos Faría, led a commemorative wreath-laying ceremony before the plaque of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, located in Moscow.

The information was released by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry through the official Twitter account.

According to the information, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister was accompanied by representatives of the Russia-Venezuela Friendship Group, of the state-owned company Petróleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA), fellows from the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Foundation and personnel from the Venezuelan Embassy.

These acts in honor of Commander Chavez in Moscow are part of the work agenda carried out by Foreign Minister Carlos Faría in the Eurasian country, which aims to maintain negotiations between the two nations, strengthen bilateral cooperation and the international situation.
