Decree published by the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) determines that the institution will monitor compliance with electoral legislation until the October election. “The decree only made this specific attribution of the Attorney General’s Office clearer, saying the following: any and all acts, during the electoral period, that may eventually come into conflict with the electoral legislation, must go through the advice of the Attorney General’s Office” , explained the attorney general of the Union, Bruno Bianco, to the program The Voice of Brazil this Monday (4).
According to Bianco, through the decree, whenever there is an act, a public policy, or any factor that may eventually conflict with the electoral legislation, the AGU, within the scope of the executive, will carry out this analysis. “The President of the Republic will be sure that all acts, during this period, and that all public policies, during this period, will undergo a legal scrutiny and he will be sure that all these acts will be in accordance with electoral legislation.
Bianco also spoke about the legalization caused by the reduction of ICMS on fuels in the states, in which AGU participated. “We’ve had decisions in favor of complying with the law and the states, in fact, are starting to comply and we are already seeing the reduction in the value of fuel”.
