The National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (INTRANT), together with the Santo Domingo Oeste City Council, delivered more than 700 fuel voucher cards to motoconchistas in this municipality.
The cards were delivered as part of the Moto-Benefit (Motoben) pilot plan, which is executed by the Government through the Ministry of the Presidency (MINPRE) and the Social Subsidies Administrator (ADESS).
Mayor José Andújar highlighted the effort that the government has been making in favor of the most needy class in the country, like on this occasion the motoconchistas.
Andújar said that in the face of high fuel prices, the government comes to the aid of one of the most important transport sectors, such as motoconchistas, by giving them Motoben cards.
Likewise, Yenny Montero, director of education at Unamotaxi, thanked the delivery of the cards, which will contribute to improving the economic conditions of these carriers.
The event was attended by different associations, unions and federations of motoconchistas from Greater Santo Domingo, among them Esteban Beltres, president of the Mototaxi Union and Oscar Almánzar National Motoconchista Federation.
The activity was also attended by the director of the INTRANT Motorcyclists Department and in charge of the Ozama region, Margarita Rodríguez, who stressed that since the arrival of President Luis Abinader to the government, he has promised to help and organize the transport sector, especially micro -carrier.
On the same Motoben card, they will also receive a monthly bonus to purchase food with a value of 1,650 pesos and the gas bonus.
Also present were Wailly Lewis, Operations Director of the Supérate Program, representatives of Promipyme and the Social Supply Network (RAS).
On behalf of the Regional Director of the Santo Domingo Oeste National Police Commander Suárez Burgos, Colonels De León, Commander Manoguayabo and Colonel Soto, Commander O-3 Buenos Aires de Herrera, the traffic director of the Mayor’s Office Ariel Marte.
Also the president of the Council of Regidores Indhira de Jesús, the vice president of the Council of Regidores Michael Matos and the councilor Digna Chávez, among others.
