MEF will allocate S/ 2,350 million as a supplementary credit to finance fertilizers

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Oscar Graham, indicated today that a total of S/ 2,350 million will be allocated as supplementary credits for the financing of bonds and the purchase of.

On the one hand, S/ 2,000 million, already approved by the Council of Ministers, will be allocated to finance a food bonus, which is a supplement to the income that a person can have in order to mitigate the increase in food prices.

“The food bonus is a short-term measure that will benefit the lower-income sectors”said Graham during his participation in the Budget Committee.

In addition to this measure, S/ 350 million will be assigned to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) for the second purchase of fertilizers.

Both amounts add up to a total of S/ 2,350 million requested to meet these demands.

The Minister of Economy and Finance supported in a virtual session of the Congressional Budget Commission, the bill that approves supplementary credits, presented by the Executive.

For example, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) requested that credits be authorized for an approximate total amount of S / 566.6 million for the purchase of vaccines against COVID-19, complementary health services, acquisition of medical protection equipment, medicines, construction of hospitals, among others.
