The teachers gathered in the Association of Education Workers of Chubut (ATECH) announced that after the winter holidays they will go on strike, because the provincial government has not met their salary demands.

About, the general secretary of ATECH, Daniel Murphy, pointed out that it is not possible to “guarantee a return to the classroom” after the winter holidays, which in the province will be from July 11 to 22.
Consequently, the union leader assured that each school must present its proposal to achieve a consensus, since from the sector they seek a salary increase of more than 15%.
“The next joint meeting with the government will be when we are in recess, so we ask the teachers to define the position in each of the schools during this week.”
In addition, Murphy pointed out that it is necessary to solve these problems collectively, since they are “facing a government that is not willing to move from an increase of 15% in 3 installments, which is clearly insufficient” and has been rejected by the union.
Due to inflation, teachers demand a higher salary increase
