A 31-year-old woman was killed in the middle of an armed attack against the police station in the municipality of Pequein the west of Antioquia, just when the Day of the Farmer was being celebrated there.
Two more people were injured in the harassment, one of them another woman and a police officer, who suffered minor injuries to his hand. The attack was at 9:45 this Sunday night in the main park, which had a large influx of people. Colonel Daniel Mazo, commander of the Antioquia Police, confirmed that this was the second attack against the security forces in less than 24 hours.
“It was an attack against the Police, we have a policeman whose hand was injured by a bullet impact. We have not been able to evacuate him so that he can be evaluated by the doctor, but we managed to stabilize his hand so that it would not bleed more,” He told this media outlet.

Regarding the anxiety generated in the community by this attack with a firearm in the urban area of this town, Colonel Mazo indicated: “we already have the personnel in stable conditions and we have already resumed the security of the municipality.”
This is the second attack against the Public Force that occurs in the western Antioquia subregion in less than 24 hours. The other was at 3 in the afternoon this Sunday, but in the municipality of Uramita, when three uniformed men were shot at. One of them died, andPolice Subintendent Wilmer José Genes Hoyos, commander in charge of the Police station.
Until now, the hypothesis that has been handled is that these attacks have been committed by members of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ due to the ‘pistol plan’ against the authorities, in retaliation for the recent extraditions.

Last Friday, another police officer was killed, this time in the municipality of Turbo (Urabá, Antioquia). The uniformed officer had already finished his work shift and was on his way to his house when he was shot by people on a motorcycle.
