The politician from Primero Justicia Julio Borges and Juan Guaidó, president of the National Assembly elected in December 2015 and considered by part of the international community as the president in charge of Venezuela, agreed on their position regarding President Nicolás Maduro and his alleged links with terrorist organizations.
Although Guaidó and Borges are currently “divorced” due to ways of proceeding from the interim regarding various issues, especially for the management of companies such as Citgo and Monómeros, they agreed on their opinions about Maduro after Colombian media affirmed that alias “Iván Márquez” , leader of the Second Marquetalia, He died in an operation done in Venezuela.
For his part, Maduro once again accused the president of Colombia, Iván Duque, of allegedly planning “terrorist acts” against the country’s electrical system and high-ranking officials, something that the Colombian government described as “cynical and irresponsible.” In addition, he said that this is a “smokescreen” by Venezuela to divert attention from what is happening inside our country.
Borges, in an article written for El Espectador, stated that Maduro had turned the country into an “organized crime franchise” and stated that the so-called “black economy”, related to these sectors, represents 22% of GDP.
“That is, for every 10 million dollars that our economy produces, 2 come from illegal income that emanates from activities such as drug trafficking, mineral smuggling, human trafficking, money laundering and corruption,” he said.
He believes that there is a new “economic class” that is connected to this sector of the economy which, in his opinion, has formed a “small bubble” in a limited sector of Caracas through operations allegedly linked to corruption and money laundering. .
“I am talking about groups such as the former FARC, the ELN and Hezbollah itself, which have used Venezuela not only as a refuge to plan operations to destabilize the region, but also as their center of enrichment,” he wrote.
For his part, Guaidó wrote on his social networks that on several occasions they have warned about Maduro’s alleged links to terrorism by saying that they not only want to turn Venezuela into a center that allows irregular groups to meet, but also allows them to operate from our soil.
He insisted that they are a “threat to the region” and that this should be a wake-up call to the democratic governments of the continent.
