The Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning, Irene Moreira, signed agreements with the departmental governments of Durazno, Tacuarembó, Rivera and Cerro Largo to work on the irregular settlements in this area of the country, within the framework of the Plan Avanzar.
The specific agreements are complementary to the framework agreement signed in May 2022 with all the Municipalities of the country and aim to carry out strategic actions to develop and execute, within its tasks and the objectives of the Five-Year Housing Plan 2020-2024, cooperation mechanisms that facilitate the realization of comprehensive actions on the urban-housing precariousness of the families that live in settlements and the environment.
The institutions jointly defined the intervention modalities to achieve the social and urban integration of this population. Thus, carrying out prevention strategies for new occupations.
In Tacuarembo, work is being done to provide a solution for 100 homes.
