The world crises derived from the covid-19 pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, he stated, have left two lessons: how strategic it is to seek energy and food self-sufficiency and that one cannot fail to attend to the feelings and needs of people, both for humanism, which is the main thing, and to fulfill the task of transforming.

Taking advantage of the event, López Obrador presented his quarterly work report – the fourteenth so far in his administration – where he addressed different issues, including security and social issues.

In terms of security, he highlighted that since the beginning of his government to date, federal crimes have been reduced by 30 percent.

Regarding social programs, the president indicated that there are already 25 million families that directly receive at least one of the Welfare Programs that his administration has implemented.

It benefits 10 million 500 thousand older adults and one million people with disabilities; 11 million scholarships have been awarded, from preschool to postgraduate; 2,300,000 young people have been apprenticed for work, and 3,500,000 peasants and fishermen have a daily wage.

To this must be added, he added, the salaries and benefits of teachers, doctors, soldiers, sailors and other public servants, with which 80 percent of households in Mexico reaches, without intermediaries, at least a small amount of the public budget.

The President remarked: The triumph of a revolution of consciences and a moral, peaceful and lasting revolution is only possible with a daring social program, not only convincing, but moving and making possible the push and support of the people. that’s the key.
