The Court awards a “multifaceted” company

The Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) awarded a total value of G. 1,376 million to two companies for the provision of furniture. This is the call for tender with ID 407,691 named; “Furniture Acquisition – Multi-year Open Contract – SBE”. For this call, offers began to be received on Monday, April 25, 2022.

This tender is within the category; “Furniture and fixtures”. The procedure implemented to carry out the call for bids was the National Public Bidding (LPN).

BENEFITED OFFERS

The call was submitted nine companies of which finally two of them were suppliers of said tender.

The awarded companies were Las Americas SRL, represented by Guillermo Mereles Casco, for a value of G. 863 million, its participation as supplier represents 62.7% of the total awarded, and Nempre Producciones, represented by Édgar Bernardino Rodríguez Barrios, for a value of 513 million with a participation of 37.3% of the total awarded.

MORE DETAILS

The two winning companies were; Las Américas SRL Guillermo Mereles Casco’s firm has won a total of 87 contracts with the State from July 2012 to date.

For its part, the firm Nempre Producciones of Édgar Bernardino Rodríguez Barrios has won a total of 258 contracts with the State since April 2010.

What is particular is that Nempre Producciones is a true multifaceted company since it not only provides furniture and fixtures but also gastronomic services, publicity and advertising, printing services, textiles, clothing and footwear, among others.

Even since its inception, it delivered computer equipment and also carried out consultancies.

This same company had set up the Petropar stand at the 2018 Expo. A tender that took on media status due to the waste of G. 370 million despite the millionaire debts of the state oil company.

NEEDS

This call has maximum and minimum amounts. In other words, the maximum amount is G. 1,376 million, but fewer resources could be used.

Sources from the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ), which we prefer not to mention, informed us that the Palace of Justice in Asunción has many shortcomings in furniture. Therefore, this call does not reflect all the need for furniture required by the entity.

It is only an estimate of what can be purchased but does not reflect the real need of the entity.

The furniture that will be replaced is that which has decomposed, broken, or been written off in the last few years. These are mainly chairs and desks. In the Courts and underground is where the need is most seen.

The CSJ has had the property problem for five years. Two years ago they bought furniture for the Public Registry but this only served to mitigate the need, considering that the other dependencies continue to need furniture.
