Prohibit the use, marketing and importation of electronic cigarettes

The use, importation and commercialization of electronic nicotine administration systems, electronic cigarettes, tobacco heaters, vaporizers and other similar devices with or without nicotine in the country, were prohibited by Panama through the new Law 315 of June 30, 2022.

This regulation, recently sanctioned by the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo, also prohibits the purchase or promotion of these devices online.

According to the Ministry of Health, the new legal provision allows the importation of these products to free zones and free zones in Panama as long as they are exported to a third country.
