Two defendants are transferred to the Inof for charging services to prisoners

Two women accused of allegedly charging prisoners for services in dollars were transferred to the National Institute for Women’s Orientation (Inof) located in Los Teques (Miranda), according to military sources.

The two women transferred to the Inof are identified as María Elena Meza Montaño and Jacqueline del Valle Urbina Bracamonte, accused of simple accomplice in the crime of aggravated corruption, aggravated own corruption, forging of a public document, among other crimes.

These people were held in the Máxima II area of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim) since May 27 when they were detained at the headquarters of the Ministry for the Penitentiary Service.

These two women, together with Enller Miguel Sánchez Gonzáles, a security worker at the Ministry, allegedly charged prisoners between 100 and 200 dollars in exchange for issuing them psychosocial tests, an essential document to opt for an alternative formula for serving a sentence. All these accused personnel are assigned to the Vice Ministry of Attention to the Prisoner of Liberty, headed by the lawyer Yajure Gil.

Research

On Thursday afternoon, prosecutors from the Public Ministry accompanied by agents from the Dgcim went to the office of the Minister for the Penitentiary Service, Mirelys Contreras, as part of the investigation that is being carried out for the alleged collection of dollars from prisoners. .

It transpired that the prosecutors had a list of requirements (documents) necessary to advance the criminal investigation.

The documents refer to the number of psychosocial tests granted in recent months to prisoners.

The Public Ministry is trying to verify whether these psychosocial tests were signed by professionals authorized to do so. This is because Mezza Montaño was one of the signatories, since she no longer belongs to the payroll of the Ministry for the Penitentiary Service. At the time of his arrest on May 27, Meza Montaño identified himself with a credential from the Administrative Health Fund Foundation of the Ministry for the Interior, Justice and Peace as a Psychologist, a situation that is not accredited in the Federation of Psychologists of Venezuela , according to research.
