Trailer with migrants
The smuggling of migrants has no end. This week, a trailer crossed from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, through Laredo almost to San Antonio, Texas, illegally transporting 67 migrants in the back of the vehicle.
NO ONE. No customs, no immigration police, no member of gringo intelligence. NO ONE noticed the presence of people inside a trailer.
They were taken without water, without air conditioning, in extreme heat of 39.5 degrees. They were abandoned inside a trailer on a highway 235 kilometers from the border.
Of the 67 migrants, 46 were found dead by the time firefighters began rescues. 16 more died after being taken to hospitals: 27 deceased are Mexicans, seven Guatemalans, four Hondurans and the rest are yet to be identified.
