From 8 o’clock, staff in overalls and boots entered the fountain dating from 1869, declared an immovable historical heritage, to clean it and fill with putty the fissures generated between the dolphin ornaments and the octagonal-shaped main fountain.
Without Culture authorization
Passers-by in the area yesterday warned about these works and the way in which putty was being placed and then possibly painted, since this has been questioned on previous occasions as it was not carried out by specialists or restorers.

Correo consulted with the director of the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Tacna Daniel Zegarra, who stated that “no work has been authorized, we are going to verify the fact, but as an advance, we have not authorized any type of intervention at the source ”.
