The Nicaraguan Institute of Telecommunications and Post Office (Telcor) ordered to take the television station San José of the Diocese of Estelíthe third Catholic television medium that the regime cancels in recent weeks.
The San José Catholic Channel reported that on Monday, June 27, several users reported that there was no signal in the Telecable service, so they contacted the company, which confirmed the situation.
The channel broadcast for 12 years and is currently in charge of Monsignor Rolando Alvarezwho also directs the channel TV Merced de Matagalpa and the Catholic Channel, both eliminated from cable by orders of the dictatorship.
The organization’s recent report Human Rights Collective Nicaragua Never Again points out that the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo maintains a systematic repression with serious violations of rights and crimes against humanity, until now in total impunity. The document collects the aggressions of the State committed in the year 2021 to May 2022, and the rejection of the population towards the Ortega dictatorship.
The report called “Nicaragua: between repression and citizen resistance” registers new patterns of torture through “a system based on cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment”, and summarizes the violation of the right of association, the establishment of the State of terror; the electoral process without guarantees, the fabrication of repressive laws and selective criminalization and judicialization.

The Sandinista steamroller in the National Assembly approved this Wednesday the cancellation of the legal personality of the Missionaries of Charity Association of the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Order along with a hundred other NGOs. 75 deputies voted in favor and none against.
In a context of persecution against the Nicaraguan Catholic Church, the nuns were forced to cancel the charity centers and those of foreign origin were promptly expelled from the country, a source confirmed to the EFE agency.
The missionaries had a nursery, a home for abused or abandoned girls and a nursing home that began to close on June 15 by orders of the regime.
The justification presented by the Ministry of the Interior and the Sandinista deputy Filiberto Rodríguez was read by the third secretary of the Board of Directors of the National Assembly, deputy Alejandro Mejía Ferreti, assuring that they did not have permission to carry out these charitable works.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), directed by Michelle Bachelet, denounced the cancellation of more NGOs and the elimination of religious television channels in Nicaragua.
The organization pointed out that “censorship is one of the most extreme undue restrictions on freedom of expression; that not only hides, but, on the contrary, further exposes the serious human rights situation” in the country.

Alberto Brunori, regional representative of the UN office, added that officials “can cancel any organization and close all free and diverse space, but reality cannot be disguised!”
The recently dismissed former agricultural minister Edward Rye he was appointed presidential adviser to Daniel Ortega for purposes not detailed. The illegitimate president prescribed another new adviser to whom he entrusted “specific missions” that he did not reveal, after having stripped him of his ministerial position for unreported reasons.
Sources told Confidencial that the former political secretary of Nueva Segovia was involved in alleged acts of corruption that cost him his job and caused the removal of several former workers from the Agricultural Ministry.
