Prices Care incorporates products for the Christmas table

The Ministry of Domestic Trade incorporated into the + Precious Care program a series of mass consumption products at affordable prices, with greater demand during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, so that consumers can count on a Christmas basket.

He made it through the resolution 1064/2021 published in the Official Gazette, which established modifications to the + Care Prices program and incorporated products for the Christmas table, such as sweet bread, puddings and cider.

The new conformation includes 111 new products and withdraws another 261, leaving the final list at 1,332; amount that varies according to the commercialization carried out by the companies in each province.

Among the products that are added there are 13 exclusively designed for the end of the year parties, and they are mass consumer goods.

For this reason, they remarked that “as a result of the exchange with all the actors in the production and commercialization chain, the Ministry of Internal Commerce introduced a series of modifications, as a first step in the direction of the consensual list that aims to consolidate from the January the 8th”.

Of the 261 products that were decommissioned, 135 were discontinued, that is, they are sold but are no longer manufactured.

In addition, 118 were negotiated promptly with the companies, guaranteeing their replacement by other goods of the same quality; and eight of them contained errors in the prices that had been reported by the supermarkets to the Electronic System of Advertising of Argentine Prices (Seppa).

In this way, the current list is 1,332 products, which “encompass the universe of representative consumption of Argentine households.”

“This basket will allow predictability during these holidays for purchases made from here until the beginning of January,” they affirmed from Internal Commerce.

The next stage

In this sense, the Secretariat continues to work on the next stage of + Care Prices, which will rule from January 8 from the agreement signed with the key representatives of the chain of production and marketing of food and mass consumption products.

“The objective is that the boost in domestic consumption promoted by the Government, one of the most relevant foundations of the growth of the economy, is not detrimental to the income of the workers,” they explained from the Feletti environment, to the They stressed that “all the price policy initiatives promoted by the Secretariat for 2022 will be oriented in this line.”

Comercio Interior began to work last week in the re-elaboration of the basket of products with maximum prices that are frozen until January 7 next, so that the new stage has the consensus of all participating companies.

The new basket will be based on price increases in accordance with the evolution of income, that is, a regulated basket that is tied to the improvement of wages.

The objective is that it is a consolidated and regulated basket, with no less than 1,200 products.

Regarding the conversations in progress, from Internal Trade they assured that “now the companies are willing to agree on a new basket to organize the replacement before January 7.”

“Today all the companies are converging on the agreement”, they affirmed, and stressed that in the last month the companies and supermarkets “had more sales because the basket works as a caller.”

They even remarked that “supermarkets are advertising the basket”, for which they considered that “then it should serve them.”
