The reason was explained both by Karen Ruíz, Marketing Director and friend of Mauricio Leal for many years.
Through a video, Leal’s worker pointed out that because many employees have not yet received their payment for the days worked last November, the date on which the renowned stylist appeared lifeless at his residence, they have sought other job opportunities.
“We work and they will not pay us, everyone has responsibilities, obligations and they need their payments. As the accounts are frozen, the fortnight of 30, no one was paid. We have approximately 25 people on the payroll, maintenance girls, administrators, cashiers, chef, kitchen assistant, “said the young woman in dialogue with Semana Magazine.
He argued that most of the employees are mothers who are heads of the household and cannot wait for the legal issues surrounding the death of their employer to be resolved to resolve their debts and obligations.
“Girls in general service are mothers heads of families and they all have children. The financial administrator resigned a few days before the company closed, then it also left us adrift and therefore the greatest concern, “he said.
Here are the statements of Karen Ruíz, friend and worker of Mauricio Leal for many years.
It should be remembered that Jhonier Leal, Mauricio’s brother, revealed to the Weekly magazine that the hairdresser is going through a severe crisis after what happened with its founder.
For the brother of the late stylist, the employees “have not been supportive in this tough test.”
“Many people have withdrawn from the hairdresser,” he said.
Jhonier said that after the decrease in the workforce, he made the decision to go to support to support the legacy of Mauricio.
Also, Jhonier implied that due to what happened with his brother, the assets and bank accounts are confiscated by the Prosecutor’s Office. As a consequence, there have been no resources to pay employees.
“They have not been paid a single peso,” said the also stylist.
This would have caused many hairdressers to decide to leave: “There are about eight and the rest of the staff around six or seven more.”
So far, the closure is temporary and it would be necessary to wait a while while the case of the death of Mauricio Leal and his mother is resolved by the prosecuting body so that there may once again be alternatives for the viability of the business.
