These are the most expensive university courses in Colombia

Up to 27 million pesos can be paid for the enrollment of a single undergraduate academic semester in several private universities positioned in rankings such as U-Sapiens or Times Higher Education (THE) as the best in Colombia.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE RACES IN COLOMBIA

The list is headed by private universities in Bogotá, which exceed 14 million pesos in tuition per semester.

In the first place are all the undergraduate programs, except Medicine, of the Universidad de los Andes, with a cost of $19,492,000 semester tuition. Followed by Business Administration ($17,990,000) at the College of Higher Administration Studies (CESA).

In third place are the undergraduate Jurisprudence ($15,497,000); Engineering Industrial, Energy Systems and Electronics ($14,934,000); Y EconomyFinance and International Trade ($14,609,000) from the University of Rosario.

In fourth place is the International School of Economic and Administrative Sciences from the Universidad de la Sabana, with six undergraduate degrees $14,450,000 the semester.
Fifth in the table is the undergraduate in Industrial design of the Javeriana University ($14,260,000).

And almost approaching 14 million pesos, undergraduate degrees in Economics and Finance from the same university$13,917,000).

MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO STUDY: SCHOLARSHIPS

These private universities have something in common, and that is that they bet on preparing talented young people through institutional scholarships and financial support.

As Ana María Cabanzo, adviser to the Rectory of the Javeriana University, says.
“The scholarship plan is a commitment to contribute to the development of the country from Higher Education, recognizing the effort of academic excellence and promoting social equity (…) to help overcome disadvantages in access to education.”

It is that according to information from the Pontifical Javeriana universityat its headquarters in Bogotá, have 8 own scholarships and 27 agreements with organizations/foundations. In which scholarships for academic excellence are included that cover 80% of the tuition fee. As well as scholarships for sports recognition, cultural activities, among others.

For a total of 1,968 scholarship students between undergraduate and postgraduate for the first semester of 2022, as well as 1,054 beneficiaries with scholarships from the National and District Government.

The scholarship plan is a commitment to contribute to the development of the country from Higher Education and correct disadvantages in access to it.

For its part, the University of the Andes has 6 scholarship optionswithin which, in the first half of 2022, were 111 undergraduate beneficiaries. In addition, as reported, as of June 2022, 779 undergraduate students have Icetex and 66 the support of banks.

ICETEX: RACES FOR THOSE WHO MOST ASK FOR SUPPORT

From 2015 to 2021, Icetex has benefited 272,624 undergraduate students.
Of these, 244,956 receive support for a private Higher Education institution and 27,665 for those of an official nature.

The areas of knowledge for which they have requested the most credit and support subsidies are Social and Human Sciences with 12,485 beneficiaries; Engineering, Architecture, urbanism and related (9,077); Health Sciences (8,495); Economics, Administration, Accounting and related (7,834).

Bogotá, Atlántico and Valle del Cauca These are the areas with the most beneficiaries in the country. In addition, in 2021 there were a total of 21,061 Icetex beneficiaries, according to its portal.

MEDICINE: THE MOST EXPENSIVE UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN COLOMBIA

27 million 736 thousand pesos is the cost of one semester of the most expensive undergraduate degree in Medicine in the country: at the Universidad de los Andes, which has 51 students with internal scholarships, 53 have a loan from the university, 192 have a government scholarship, 56 have an Icetex loan, 5 receive support from banks, 13 from other entities, and 438 pay with their own resources.
