During statements issued from the Federal Legislative Palace, in Caracas, and broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the parliamentarian explained that “as a result of a series of requests through various media, by citizens who are running, who have had inconveniences in the delivery of documents, the Committee decided to extend the process».
In this sense, Alessandrello stressed that this extension is carried out to give all citizens the opportunity to participate in the justice system.
For his part, deputy José Gregorio Correa indicated that the extension “seeks that all Venezuelans who meet the requirements can participate and be in charge of the public defender’s office.”
“Let there be no resentment that due to lack of time was not registered, we want an open justice and we decided to extend the period, so that all Venezuelans have the possibility of consigning their resources,” he stressed.
With this measure, “everyone is being given the opportunity to participate in a new renewed justice system, where everyone has a role,” Correa said.
Likewise, it extended the invitation to all lawyers in the country to formalize their registration through the AN website.
He pointed out that the process is part of the search for a reliable public defense system that provides all Venezuelans free and timely, adequate and truthful assistance.
Requirements
The National Assembly published on its account on the social network Twitter the requirements to apply for the position of General Public Defender of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The requirements include: being over 30 years of age, being recognized for his honorability, being a lawyer of recognized competence and having practiced law for a minimum of 10 years.
If all the requirements are met, citizens can submit to Parliament: an enlarged photocopy of the identity card, a copy of the university law degree, a mental health exam, as well as a summary of the curriculum.
