The tight times in the Bogota Council they already seem to have no solution. Impediments, challenges and other delaying measures have put a halt in the debate among lobbyists about two of the most important projects for the city in the coming year: el Plan of Territorial Regulation and the annual budget of Bogotá.
This Monday, December 6, the Finance Commission was again forced to suspend the session to advance, in the first debate, the vote on the budget project for a new challenge against the councilor Julián López Sierra of the Radical Change Party.

According to the citizen who filed the appeal, it is requested that the lobbyist declare himself impeded by “personal and private conflict of interest due to having direct interests in the budget approved for the Bogotá Ombudsman, according to him, for having bureaucratic quotas in the entity, “the Bogotá Council reported through a statement.
Thus, there are only two days left for the projects to be approved, at least in commission, and for many it is already practically impossible for it to happen.

Given the situation, since last November 10 – the date on which the impediments filed began – the idea that the Mayor’s Office has the only option to remove the POT by decree. However, so far there has been no pronouncement on this option, nor on what decision will be made on the budget on December 8, the day the 90-day deadline expires.
