The Comptroller General of the Republic launches this Tuesday 28 the project called CGR Digital Transformation, in order to publicize the progress being made to replicate the experience of the Comptroller General of Colombia in preventive auditing and concomitant use of information and communication technologies.
Currently, among other advances, it is highlighted that the CGR has a platform that allows citizens to access online sworn declarations of assets and income of public officials, Fonacide accountability, royalties and transfers, as well as emergency funds. covid-19. The incorporation of new technological tools applicable to all types of audits opens a new field for the preventive control of the State administration.
This event is organized jointly with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Supreme Audit Institutions of Paraguay and Colombia, which is why a hybrid format is planned. (face-to-face and virtual) for the event, so that representatives of the Colombian Comptroller’s Office can participate through a streaming transmission from the CGR network.
The UNODC prioritized Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay to support governments with specific technical assistance, in order to respond to the challenges imposed by covid-19 in the development of public procurement, with the aim of establishing and strengthening coordination mechanisms and create transparent public procurement processes, not only to contribute to the recovery from the health crisis, but also that the measures adopted comply with the commitments of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
Within the framework of this project, the UNODC has identified as a good practice the one implemented by the Directorate of Information, Analysis and Immediate Reaction (DIARI) of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Colombia in matters of preventive auditing in public procurement, such as a model that can be replicated by other countries in the region, as could be the case of Paraguay through the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic.
The launch of the project is aimed at Paraguayan public officials related to the Government Audit area.
