In the middle of the phenomenon migrant from Venezuela presented by Colombia, with more than 1.8 million people regularized. The government confirmed that today they will issue a decree that enables vaccination against Coronavirus in irregular migrants without vocation of permanence in the border with the neighboring country.
“The Ministry of Health has been consistent with the regularization and with the inclusion of migrants in the actions of public health between them to National Vaccination Plan. Today the president will sign a decree that is now ready for the immunization of irregular migrants, recognizing the need that protecting them is first one obligation ethics, but also the only way to control the pandemic“, he claimed Julian Fernandez, Director of Epidemiology and Demography of the Ministry of Health.
For its part, Migration Colombia revealed that, to date, more than 1 million migrants are doing the process to qualify for the protection status temporary, which are being identified to vaccinate them against Coronavirus, since around 100,000 have already been immunized.
Likewise, there are other 300,000 in the Colombian territory of irregular shape, who have not yet accessed the statute protection and have not come close to Migration Colombia.
