Snowfalls in Lonquimay leave nearly 1,600 people isolated

Intense snowfalls in Lonquimay, La Araucanía region, have left nearly 1,600 people in rural areas isolated.

The regional director of the National Emergency Office (Onemi) of La Araucanía, Janet Medranoindicated that “the municipality of Lonquimay has communicated that 408 families would be affected by a condition of isolation, this due to accumulation of snow in different rural areas of the commune and particularly on interior roads,” it says.
