The National Association of Shipowners of the Dominican Republic (ANRD) suggested to the Government the creation of a high-level team, made up of representatives of the public and private sectors, to be in charge of “selling” to large multinationals all the conditions that it already has. the country to be the logistics warehouse for your merchandise in the Caribbean.

By participating in the HOY Economic Meeting, ANRD leaders Teddy Heinsen, Odile Miniño and Cristyan Peralta pointed out that with good management the Dominican Republic can attract large investments that will contribute to its development.

According to Cristyan Peralta, the country has five main characteristics that make it stand out as a true hub.
“We have maritime and air connectivity, port and air infrastructure, legal framework, experience in logistics operations and technology,” he explained.

They insisted that the Dominican Republic has a very solid base, from the characteristic point of view and needs, which are demanded by customers, so, they understand, it is only necessary to leave with everything that the country already has in terms of logistics. and ports to knock on the doors of all those multinationals.

“Tell those companies that in the Dominican Republic they have this. I need you here. There is no reason why you cannot be there ”, indicated the ANRD leaders.

They pointed out that there is now a government leadership that is “riding the train”, since the same discourse is being heard from the Presidency and the General Directorate of Customs (DGA) about the country’s attractiveness for foreign investment.

They understand that if the Dominican Republic became the hub of the Caribbean it would attract a lot of foreign investment.
“If we manage to capture 5% of the investments that are in China, that it moves to the Dominican Republic, it would already be a huge profit,” they said.
