The Minister of Culture, Alexander Salasreported that the Council of Ministers has declared itself in permanent session throughout this weekend due to the indefinite strike of carriers, scheduled for this Monday, June 27.
At a press conference, he considered that generating panic over the shortage of products due to roadblocks it is “unnecessary” Y “it’s not healthy”so he called for calm.
“Make a call for tranquility, that they have a government of President Castillo and the premier, who leads the Council of Ministers, who is working for the tranquility of the country. I think generating unnecessary panic right now is not healthy.”he expressed.
“We are going to continue working for it. The premier has ordered us and has ordered a permanent session of the Council of Ministers, so we are going to be vigilant, working 24 hours a day throughout this weekend to be able to give the country peace of mind”he added.
Salas said that the dialogue is still going on and that although the international crisis is not in their hands to solve it, they can “beat her” and the government has been working on that.
“It is important to make a call for calm in the country, the Government is working, dialoguing, agreeing. Let’s not unnecessarily create a shortage panic. The dialogue still continues, we have an international crisis that afflicts the economies of the entire region”he underlined.
“I hope that sister countries achieve social and democratic peace, like Ecuador. We have to continue advancing in the dialogue, in the work. Of course, this crisis is not in our hands nor can we solve it, but we can beat it up and we are working hard on it”sentenced.
It should be noted that for the Monday and Tuesday, June 27 and 28, agricultural sector unions will abide by a national strike. The measure was taken after a meeting of representatives of different organizations held today at the headquarters of the National Agrarian Confederation, in downtown Lima.
The peasant patrols also announced a national strike for Monday, June 27. They reject the approval of the law that recognizes the Self-Defense and Rural Development Committees, which, in their opinion, weakens these organizations.
These measures are added to Announced carrier strike called by the National Union of Heavy Cargo Carriers (UNT)whose president Javier Marchese, announced it with a worrying phrase: “No food will enter Lima on Monday”.
