Political scientist and social researcher Alberto Vergara stated in an interview given to the journalist Clara Elvira Ospina, from Epicentro TV, that it is difficult to see clearly the political panorama of the country and pointed out that we are experiencing a serious moment.
He said that while the President of the Republic, peter castlecontinue immersed in investigations that indicate him as the head of a criminal organization entrenched in the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), According to the hypothesis of the Public Ministry, Congress is absorbed in “falling off the cliff” with regulations with their own name.
He mentioned that shortly after turning one year old, both the Executive and the Legislative are ending the possibility of civilized coexistence in the country. He explained that both powers of the state seek to regulate interactions by the law of the strongest and, in turn, destroy the rule of law and democracy.
“The 2026 elections could be problematic (…) If you destroy democracy, as the Executive and Legislative are doing, you are ending the possibility of living together civilly. We are facing an attempt to destroy democracy,” warned Alberto Vergara.
The specialist also warned that democracy in Peru is dying due to a sum of political figures who, motivated by their interests, try to do business and avoid justice.
“It is falling into the hands of pickpockets who use the rhetoric of ideologies to lie to you, but deep down they work very well to rip off what is public,” he questioned.

The also professor at the Universidad del Pacífico explained that we are not experiencing just any moment because the joint project of the two powers of the State is to finalize the regulatory capacity of the law and the Government.
“What they are looking for in some way is that our interactions be regulated by the law of the strongest, destroying the rule of law and democracy. It seems to me that there is a kind of anti-regulatory coalition in transportation, in education, in housing. What it is about is promoting the law of the jungle. Take as much as possible from the State, capture it, further informalize the country in all sectors”, accurate.
According to Vergara, work is being done so that the public, the common, not even the law in its most universal sense, does not exist.

Likewise, the political analyst indicated that on the other side is the demolition of democracy because Congress passes laws all the time that seek to weaken it, handcuff it; and that now they are directly trying to see if they turn it into a parody of democracy.
As an example, he referred to the siege of the electoral authorities, the change of laws when the electoral processes had already begun or had ended. And on the other hand they want to shield people from their own to prevent them from being investigated, and disable those they don’t like.
“We are going in a direction in which elections in 2026 could be problematic, I don’t know what to call them, semi-democratic or something like that. If the rule of law collapses, as the Executive and the Legislative are doing, the possibility of living in a civilized way is ending,” Vergara noted.

They prepare an unacceptable climate of violence
Alberto Vergara underlined the mechanisms that exist to not kill us for our differences: the rule of law and every five years to go and vote freely.
“But if all that is destroyed, what is being prepared is a climate of violence, of unacceptable disorder. At this moment democracy is dying from a sum of political pygmies with their dwarf interests that they are seeing how they subjugate it for them to continue doing business and continue saving themselves from all the ‘anticuchos’ they have”.
