Antel registered an increase of 25,000 users in the first five months of the year

The president of the state telecommunications company, Gabriel Gurméndez, informed the Presidential Communication that between January and May 2022 some 25,000 new clients were registered. In addition, he assured that 134,000 contracts were renewed in those months, which doubles the figures compared to the same period in 2021. “Our clients are confirming their loyalty to us,” he stressed.
Gurméndez reported that Antel is increasing the number of clients, and assured that there is an important benefit for consumers in terms of contract prices and gigabyte capacity.
He also pointed out that the state company sold some 143,000 telephones between January and May 2022, which totaled an increase of 62% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The head of Antel also stated, after a report from the Communications Services Regulatory Unit (Ursec), that the implementation of number portability favored the establishment of offers to retain and attract users. In this sense, he valued the transformations and the dynamism that it brought about in the market.
