They analyze to suspend for life the driver’s license to people who incur for the third time in alcohol

The Traffic and Land Transportation Authority (ATTT), does not rule out the possibility of suspending the driver’s license for life for those who incur a third time in the infraction for alcohol.

To apply this measure, which seeks to avoid or reduce traffic accidents that in recent days have resulted in fatalities and injuries, the ATTT would have to make changes to the current Traffic Regulations.

According to Nicomedes Aizpurúa, director of the Department of Traffic Education and User Defense of the ATTT, the approval of a series of modifications to the Traffic Regulations is expected at the next meeting of the board of directors.

He expressed that what is sought with the modifications to the Traffic Regulations is to reinforce the work that is being done in the streets to try to reduce everything that is being seen in terms of road accidents.

It will also seek to comply with the obligation to go to talks in cases of infraction for speeding, cell phone use, and seat belt.

“Reinforce these trainings and make people aware that these are behaviors that we cannot afford to practice in the streets… in this case we accompany the modifications with slightly more rigorous sanctions that motivate people not to continue with these practices, because in the case of alcohol it will lead to the loss of the privilege of having a driver’s license,” Aizpurúa said.
