In the first six months of the year, dengue has not given respite to the metropolitan health region, since during this period of time 120 cases have been registered.
According to the director general of the Metropolitan Region, of the Ministry of Health (MINSA), the corregimiento of Juan Díaz has a high rate of infestation, as does the area of Concepción, where 25% of the cases are reported, a situation that worries the communities. authorities due to the large number of mosquito breeding sites that can trigger a dengue outbreak by increasing cases.
“We have a total of 120 cases of dengue, of which 119 are without warning signs, one with an alarm sign in a child under 10 years of age from the Las Mañanitas district, no serious dengue or deaths have been reported,” he specified.
Faced with this reality, this Friday, June 24, MINSA carried out an operation to nebulize and eliminate the breeding sites of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, transmitter of dengue, in the area of Concepción La Nueva and Concepción Municipal in the Juan Díaz district.
Cedeño explained that the actions carried out by the Health personnel were the promotion, inspection and verification, nebulization with light equipment and control of breeding sites with chemical products, in addition to garbage collection.
