The provincial mayor of Cusco, Víctor Boluarte, reported that more than 90% of the tickets were sold to appreciate the staging of the Inti Raymi or Fiesta del Sol in the archaeological park.
Around 700 artists will be part of the Inti Raymi 2022. The main cast is made up of: the Inca played by Professor David Anca, the Coya by Mary Cruz Lima, the entourage, and the representations of Collasuyo, Contisuyo, Antisuyo and Chinchaysuyo.
“The capacity in Sacsayhuaman is 3,700 tourists. Already more than 90% of locations have already been sold. However, it is not only the Inti Raymi but also the entire framework that has made between 50 and 60 thousand tourists arrive in Cusco, ”he indicated in dialogue with RPP.
“It should be noted that during the pandemic in June, 200,000 tourists arrived in Cusco. We are, I believe, at 30% in terms of tourism recovery and without neglecting the protocols and vaccination so that this economic activity that is so important for Peru and Cusco is reactivated.“, I note.
When the provincial mayor of Cusco was consulted about the security measures during the celebration of Inti Raymi, he indicated: “In the area of the District Committee for Citizen Security, all activities must comply with the protocol of the three doses of vaccination, masks , distancing, and greater security so that people do not start drinking in the streets,” he added.
Today, Friday, June 24, Cusco once again celebrates the apotheosis in person Inti Raymi, the main festival of the jubilee calendar of this region and one of the most important in the tourist yearbook of Peru. It takes place in 3 Cusco scenarios: Coricancha, the Plaza de Armas and Sacsayhuamán.
The festival of Sun party where the most important deity of the Incas is worshiped, was declared by the Law 27431 of the year 2001 as Cultural Heritage of the Nationas well as Official Act and Main Ritual Ceremony of National Identity.
