Venezuela celebrates 201 years of the Battle of Carabobo

This Friday, June 24, Venezuela commemorates the 201 years of the Battle of Carabobo and the Day of the Bolivarian Army, with the raising of the Tricolor Flag at the National Pantheon, located in Caracas.

The commemorative acts of this important national date began early this Friday with the presence of the authorities of the Bolivarian Government.

The act was led by the Minister of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, who received the national flag, to then hand over the cadets of the Military Academy of Venezuela and be moved through the alley of honor to the main flagpole.

On June 24, 1821, the Liberator Simón Bolívar led the patriot army, divided into three fronts, in the Battle of Carabobo, in which, in three hours of combat, he won victory against the colonizing forces of Spain, thereby consolidating the independence of Venezuela.

During the act, Ceballos stressed that “today we are celebrating a great victory commanded by our Liberator Simón Bolívar there in Carabobo, the event such as the one celebrated today, showed the strategic thinking of our father of the country to expel the empire Spanish of our lands».

Bolívar “had a magnanimous vision of projection towards the south that sought to liberate all the peoples of South America, that great liberating dream that began in Carabobo after a great military maneuver, and allowed it to far surpass the Spanish army.”

Highlighting the courage and patriotism of those military heroes who fought during the Battle of Carabobo, together with the people, Minister Ceballos also congratulated the Bolivarian Army, which celebrates its day this June 24.

“We praise the patriotic army, our glorious Bolivarian army, our glorious Bolivarian National Armed Forces, the militia,” he said.

He related that at a crucial moment during the Battle of Carabobo, Bolívar told his army you will be undefeated. “In the midst of this blockade and sanctions, overcoming the attacks of those who are the same as those of those times, today we have a firm and clear direction for the country, we remain undefeated, we are on our feet,” stressed Minister Ceballos.

In the same way, he emphasized that “South America is strengthening and consolidating in the course of Simón Bolívar’s libertarian dream.”
